Yes, it is that one special day of the year were we come together and rally in the mystical and spooky.

To some it is known as Halloween, to others it is known as Dia de los Muertos, or "Day of the Dead".

Here in Jamaa it is known simply as the Night of the Phantoms!

I hope every has a fun time with all of their "creppy" and "spoopy" festivities.

Later today I will release some costumes for my fellow procrastinators out there so that no animal goes without a disguise this year.

Some News & New Author

Hey, Jammers.

First off today, I hope everyone has seen the last post on the blog by our second author, My Fuzzy Kins.

It is such a relief for me to have someone else to post here, and I hope it adds variety for all of you viewers. I hope being a member of the staff here is as fun for you as it is for me, MyFuzzyKins!

With such a great new author, I will also have time to add some more great changes to the blog. I am even in the works of creating a chat room and even a little game. No peeks, though!

Update: The AJS just updated their post to include this.

I guess this proves something, but it cannot be the new animal mentioned in the ice...
What are your thoughts? Could they have been hinting at a "Flying Fox"? Will there be not one, but two new animals?

Hello There!

Heyo Jammers! Its me, Myfuzzykins, You may have seen me in the comments and I'm happy to become an author here.

I'm still figuring out how things work here, so please, bear with me.

         A little about me is that I love warriors, cats, Percy Jackson, Heroes of Olympus, Kane Chronicals, and the new Magnus Chase and the God of Asgard series! I enjoy reading, animal jam, drawing and sleeping. I like a good challenge and enjoy puzzles and games, also I enjoy tasks that make me think and get my creative brain thinking. Because of that, expect many things from me, I think a LOT!

AJ Linearts Preview

Hey, Jammers!

I have been busy lately, but I found the time to draw some little linearts that I am thinking about letting y'all use here on the blog. There are about five ready for use, but I want to get opinions on if you like the idea before I release any posts with them or finalize a page. This was the first one I did and was only made for example, so it is pretty much an experiment. The linearts are rough, the backgrounds are solid, and the coloring was done quickly, but it works enough for a taste of what is to come. Here is an example of a lineart and what it looks like colored in with different programs.

Some Art Examples

Not much to post about today except a few new items (Epic Dragon Skull and Scary Table), so I am turning back a few days to our art contest. Many of the entries are amazing, but I know what it is like for those of you who can't think of anything. For those people, I have dug out some images from my art folder. Some of these are works in progress, others have been given up on completely. Enjoy my little dump. ~

Nothing is wrong, it is just our new Halloween Background.

We have just switched to a lovely new background!

While it is pretty much the exact same as our old one, I switched it to some spooky colors.

I hope you enjoy it, and I just wanted to make sure nobody was alarmed by the odd colors of our background.

We are constantly making changes here at the Feather, so things may look different from time to time. This is simply how our blog becomes better by the day, and we hope it does just that!

Art Contest: Our First Official Logo

Hey, everyone!

I finally have the time for a contest, and a very important one at that!

The winner of this contest will not only get some super cool prizes, but they will also have their art featured as our first official logo.

Here are the requirements.

1. Image Size must be big enough to look smooth, but it must also be small enough to fit on the blog title, where there is currently just the word "Feather".

2. The image must relate to the blog in some way and include the word "Feather" in it. Our blog's theme is very Native American and Aztec. Dreamcatchers, arrowheads, Aztec patterns, and feathers, of course, all fit well in my opinion. Our color scheme is gray and a dull red color, as seen in the background.
3. The image must be appropriate and cannot contain gore, fighting, or other explicit scenes.
4. I would highly prefer the background of the image to be transparent. If it is not, I can make it so, but only with your permission.
5. Please only use your own art. Art theft is absolutely not tolerated here!

Official Author Auditions!

I know some of you have wanted to be an author for a while, and this is your big chance!

Before I begin, here are the main requirements...

1. Must keep calm and be nice to any responses to their posts.

2. Must be able to take screenshots (Mine just got fixed, yay!) and crop them.

3. Must have a valid email address and be able to check it at least every month. If you are not comfortable using your own email, you can always make one for the blog use. Only I, as the admin, will have access to your information.

4. Must be able to conform to any changes with the site.

5. Must commit and take responsibility for any usage of the blog.

Sounds pretty easy, huh? It is, but it is also a huge commitment.

Anywho, the new update came out today.

Tarantulas are back.

Spike Collars will be back in the diamond shop, so prepare your emergency bunkers for the weekend.

New animals, which I suspect to be arctic foxes or red pandas based on the clue, are coming.

The clue is in Mt. Shiveer where the seal cave once was.

If you get a Polar Bear Gift Card, you get some items with it.

Kind of lazy on my part, but I hope to bring in some more posts soon. Since my screenshots are broken forever now, it will just be text. Jam on, guys.

New Items

The flood has impacted me in a way that cannot be changed, but I am very happy to be back.

I feel like a bear coming out of hibernation.

Anyway, my screenshots are broken so... IMAGINATION.

Since I was gone, we have been introduced to the scary mask, spooky eyes, medusa mask, spooky pops, cauldron pool (Awesome? Yes.), spider strand, skeleton suit, underwater jack o' lantern head, underwater halo, underwater horns, underwater neck bolts, underwater phantom lights, underwater phantom canon, underwater scary barrel sponge (Yep, how scary...), underwater coral tombstone, and jack o' nesting lanterns.

Wooh.

URGENT: No Posts until Tuesday

There has been a huge flood here and most houses are without power.

Because mine could be one of them, I want to take precaution by alerting you all first that I may not be able to post until Tuesday, possibly Wednesday, if the rain doesn't let up.

To elaborate on how bad it is, our entire driveway (dirt) and cow pasture are underwater.

My crazy uncle started his boat in case he needs it. He also has nailed a couch some wooden planks and attached pontoons to them if he need that.

Only my grandmother, my little sister, and I are home, for my older sister, brother, and my parents are stuck at a football game they went to last night. They can't get home because the dams have broken up there and everything is underwater.

We can't even flush toilets because ou septic tanks are underwater. It is disgusting.

School is out and all stores, churches, and public buildings are closed.

It's really bad, and I hope you all understand.

Sorry for not posting, everyone. It has been a hectic few days. We had a storm, then AJ was offline, then my screenshots are not working, then there was a flood...

So, yeah.

At least Saturday can do me well.

Bitter Sweets is back- a fun and spooky adventure!

The haunted manor is back, but this one had MORE! We also have the Phantom Vortex, which gives you a cool surprise at the fifth level.

The Spooky Party is here, which fun items and pet bats.

We have a new way to access games and the new Theater Shop.

AJHQ has finally brought us some good stuff! Learn about the ever-popular wolves and the real struggles they face. If your not exactly a wolf-fanatic, maybe you would be interested in World Animal Day on October 4th to celebrate ALL animals!

Finally we have some new items in Jam Mart Clothing, Jam Mart Furniture, and Epic Wonders. There are many more items out, but these are the sort of "main stores".

Forget the rest of the items, what is with the pumpkin shoes??

I mean, really, what are thooooose?
