Hello again, Jammers!

Since we have no item today, I figured I would just chat a little bit about the newest rage of Jamaa: The Basement of Secrets

Hehe, a little literary thought for fans of a certain series...

This super-cool-super-secret room is accessible through the Chamber of Knowledge.

You then have to go to your map and click a little forest, though.

Okay, honestly, why did we have to have a Basement of Secrets underneath a Chamber of Knowledge? *throat clearing*

Anywho, for those of you who want to venture into the cozy little basement, there is also a shop, currently only stocked with three items, and a handful of those little candles we all love.

I can't wait to see you there!

Jamaa Journal 164

(Yeah! Guess who got an update in on time? THIS GIRL!!!)

Hey, Jammers! I'm sorry for the lack of posts since the last update, and I am sad to say that if the weather is not in the blog's favor, I could be stuck in a snowstorm. To be honest, though, that's more of a flurry by our forecasts. Not too much to worry about, though. Isn't it odd that I get so much extreme weather and such though, haha...

For now, though, I can at least update you all on today's news.

First up, Polar Bears have returned. Honestly, these big beauties are one of my favorite animals in Jamaa. Quite the underrated creature, yes? Well, I'm sure many of you are excited for the return of these big guys, so be sure to stop by the Diamond Shop soon!

Next, pet armadillos have arrived! I love armadillos; something about being born with a ball of armor stuck to your back just seems cool to me, hehe. Be sure to customize yours and pick it up while you sit in the Diamond Shop thinking about how you're going to purchase a Polar Bear, Armadillo, and...

Goats! Long ago, there hath been legend that goats would one day come to these lands... That day is approaching. I can't wait for these little guys. I love goats.

We also have a new contest for a new animal to arrive in Jamaa. It strikes me as both odd and pleasing that they used the Heartstone Legend while introducing the contest, but perhaps you would enjoy me skipping lore this time and going on to the fact that we will soon have no only Goats, but also Ostriches, Sloths, and/or Falcons! This was such a hard choice for me... but I did end up voting bird-wise this time and I went with the falcon. I do wonder if the ostriches would be able to fly, though, hmm.

Friendship Festival time, Jammers. Yep, that time of year again... Eating chocolate and checking to see if anyone in your buddy list is actually recognizable. But, hey, free items and a new armor set!

We also have a change in how we send Jam-a-Grams, which are rising in use, it seems. The new interface is quicker than the old one and gives a much larger view of your JAG history.

Now, for a little something that you can just skip over if you want. I had not logged in for three days before yesterday due to a convention and an ear infection. When I did log in, I noticed the same thing I notice everyday. "Jammers" nowadays only care for items. Online currency has overcome international friendship. Where is the uniqueness? Friendship? Fun? What has Jamaa become? I decided to go into Jamaa Township while typing this. The following are direct quotes of what I am reading...

"BETA TIARA ON TRD, PLZ TRD FARE!"

"That isn't beta mine is plz trade''

"Trade me I will decline if not fair"

Is that what we have become? That isn't even in Aldan, where we find these:

"Anything on list 4 spike wrist?"

"Any rare stores???"

We need to change this. :(

RIM & Update

Sorry this is late; I just had to suffer through my mid-terms and I get braces tomorrow.

First off, we have a new update...

We have a new den for 2016! This Winter Palace has plenty of spacious rooms and is great for fans of Disney's Frozen. I like the fact that is appeals to a younger audience while still being awesome for teenagers, as Animal Jam was originally intended.

Next, some great news for all of us who love to buy every single item to ever grace Jamaa, you can earn Double Gems on EVERY GAME. Time to play Best Dressed forever...

In some super-exciting news, GOATS are coming to Jamaa! You can find the clues to this animal in the top left corner of each page in the Jamaa Journal. Not only will goats be coming to Jamaa, but Polar Bears will be returning, too!

Pet Snow Leopards are coming and I LOVE THEM. I WANT ONE. GEETTT MEEE ONNNEEE!!! These adorable little cubs also come with some awesome leopard-print furniture.

Now, for today's RIM, we have the Rare Sparkly Boa.

It looks like ice. That's cool, right? Right...?

Also, just a little random question that I'll probably use for a future poll, what other animal-related games do you play other than Animal Jam, if any?

Zios Ice Statue

Sorry for my five-day-dormancy again, guys.

(Harry Potter Marathon + Star Wars + My Usual Procrastination + Crazy Aunt From Florida + Uncle in the Mountains = No Hurricane, to put it simply.)

Anywho, today we have the ice fangs (which I do not have an image for) and the Zios Ice Statue.

I like this. I like this very much.

They are acknowledging Zios and Mira more nowadays, and that is good.

Man, can you believe it is already the end of 2015.

(Even though we will keep writing that as the date until March.)

Gingerbread Wings & Closer Look at Jammer Parties

I know it has been a few (crazy) days, but I am finally back.

Today's gift is gingerbread wings.

Now, for something special I have been preparing...

So, as you likely know, we can now host our OWN parties! I decided to help out anyone confused by this with a little guide...

To host your party, go to your party menu at the top of the screen and click the button at the bottom of the list.

You will get a panel similar to the one above. As you can see, parties cost One Diamond each, have their own banner, a name, and even a special room.

These are the options for that room. You can have everything from a laboratory to a giant cake! Each of these rooms has exclusive items. I'll let you check them out on your own. ;)

No Posts from Hurricane for a few Days

Bad news, guys.

My computer finally gave in after four years, so I have no access to Animal Jam for a little bit.

I am very sorry! :(

I should be back by this Saturday if all goes well.

Edit: Change in plans; I was able to sneak my sister's computer away while she was sleeping, so we're good now. :D

Bow & Arrows & Rim

Hey, Jammers! Sorry this is a little late; I started mid-terms today. Yayyyy... :I

Anywho, today we have one of the most coveted items in all of Jamaa...

Bow and Arrows.

Okay, mini-rant time, excuse me: It bothers me like crazy that someone who has never actually seen a bow in their life can suddenly become flipping Katniss Everdeen and go around all "Shoots perfect bullseye with hair flowing in the wind." As an archer myself, it took me two years before I even hit a target. Okay, so I may be one of the really bad ones, but at least I can draw a bow. Seriously, for those of you who have never tried to use a bow before, even the bow I used as a kid took my dad to draw back for me. It is super hard. Then there's keeping the arrow on the bridge of the bow. That gets annoying... If I have already lost you, don't go around Jamaa pretending to be the best archer ever.

Okay, I hope nobody is too offended by that, hehe.

Culture Petition

Heyo, Myfuzzykins here for a quick little post. I'm tired of seeing Christmas items called Jamaaliday items. Everything is so obvious that I don't understand WHY they bother calling it Jamaalidays and not Christmas, I mean really, Epic Jamaaliday Tree? Really? I know it's an American Based game, but there are so so so so so so so so so soooooooooooooooo many other religions, so I started a petition to bring other religions. A Menorah called holiday candle holder, a Dreidel called Holiday Spinning Top, gelt called Chocolate coins. SOMETHING TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT WE EXIST! Ahem. Right. Sorry. Just sign with your Animal Jam username, do not delete someone else's name and please only use one account, no side accounts. (I have to follow this rule as well, I have so many side accounts and I want to see other religion's items in the game I would just fill up all of the spots with side accounts)

Climate Change Writing Contest!

As may of you know, the world is sadly on the verge of the sixth mass extinction. 

This means that thousands- even millions- of animal species will disappear forever!

Climate change plays a big role in these kids of events, and I thought it would be fun to spread awareness in a writing contest.

While I am still getting submissions for other contests, I am also going to be taking in submissions for this one.

Want to do it? Awesome! You may do any form of writing, including an essay, a poem, or a song.

Please make sure you use correct grammar, spelling, etc.

Ensure that your submission is a good length.

Remember to stick to the theme of Climate Change!

RIM: Rare Epic Antlers

Today's RIM is the Rare Epic Antlers, sold in Jam Mart Clothing for 550 gems.

It was released on accident yesterday (Nice Going, HQ!), but was removed for a time until today.

I love it.

So pretty...

If I could shoot a deer with antlers like that, that would be epic...

New Pixelated Table

Heyo, Myfuzzykins here once more. Hurricane is off on an unannounced road trip, so expect me for a little while! Today's new item is the Pixelated Table, to go along with yesterday's new items.

Its at an affordable price of 600 gems. I wonder what tomorrow will bring! Who knows, perhaps Jamaaliday items will start being released because Aj has transformed Jamaa Township into a winter wonderland!

I do they acknowledge other religions this year. I feel as if every year people start realizing that more and more, because the awareness this year is higher than I have ever seen it! It makes me happy inside that people are willing to 'fight' for other religions, I myself am Jewish! Hannukah starts on December 6th, I will try to get a special post on Hannukah sometime around there.

Pixel Items and Item Search

Hey Jammers, Myfuzzykins here! Happy Thanksgiving! Today's new items are the pixelated chair and couch. I think AJ is starting a new theme.

I don't know how to do the color format thing.

On a bigger mention, a late little update. I'm guessing it was meant to be released with the Arctic Foxes, but it was not ready. There is now another page (unannounced) in the jamaa journal! You can now type in items you want to find. For me, a big den decorator, I cannot express what a relief this is.

Here is a test run of the new system, I searched up table, and all of my tables from throughout my entire inventory appeared!

Giant Hyena Plushie

Hello, Jammers!

Today's new item is the Giant Hyena Plushie, sold in the Diamond Shop for one diamond.

This lovely item comes with 10 colors: red & blue, black, gray, red, &  purple, white & purple, blue, green, yellow, pink, brown, and default purple.

Would you viewers rather that in gif form (like on the AJS) or in the still-image comparison shown above?

What are your thoughts on this silly little item? I like it and I think it will be big with the wolf-packs and such.
